Fall Bird Hikes for Beginner Birders

Have you wanted to get started in the fun and exciting hobby of bird watching but were not sure how to begin? We are here to help you. Many birds are now migrating through the GTA to their annual wintering grounds . Now is the time to start wandering the local hot spots to get a last look at many species.

Wild Birds Unlimited has hikes planned through the peak weeks of migration. We will be birding one of the local birding hot spots, Colonel Samuel Smith Park. If you are not familiar with park as per the Friends of Sam Smith Park,

"Sam Smith Park is the jewel of the Lakeshore - a tranquil, waterfront sanctuary of wetlands, woods, shore and meadow. It supports a magnificent web of life with a diversity of environments that provide food, habitat and protection for the many species of plants and the birds and animals that pass through or call it home. The gentle sounds and green beauty of the park provide a restorative, stress reducing element to the life of the residents of the Lakeshore and to the increasing number of lucky visitors who are discovering its special gifts."

The staff of Wild Birds Unlimited, Kyle and Barb will be leading the hikes.
