An Amazing Bird Feeding Breakthrough

One of the bird feeding innovations Lynda and I were privileged to be part of was the introduction of seed cylinders. An easy, quick and tidy method of feeding birds. Seed cylinders are densely packed, molded cylinders of bird seed, often held together with a natural gelatin, designed to offer birds a long‑lasting, easy‑to-access food source. Instead of loose seed that scatters or spills the cylinder design keeps seed contained and tidy—no scattering, no spills. Depending on the feeder type, minimal seed reaches the ground, helping to reduce or even eliminate access for squirrels and other rodents. I really appreciate how easy it is to fill the feeder quickly during the cold winter months, especially since my arthritic hands don’t handle the chill very well.
