Winter Bird Hikes for Beginner Birders

Have you wanted to get started in the fun and exciting hobby of bird watching but were not sure how to begin? We are here to help you. Winter birding can be fun and exciting and yes it can be cold. But we do have a good selection of winter bird species that arrive in the GTA for winter. From Junco's and American Tree Sparrows to Great Black-backed Gulls, Long-tailed Ducks, Snowy Owls and even Peregrine Falcons.

Wild Birds Unlimited has hikes three hikes planned starting on Sunday, February 09. We will be birding the local birding winter hot spot, Humber Bay East.

The Kyle and Barb of Wild Birds Unlimited will be leading the hikes.

Please dress for the weather, winds blowing off of the lake can be very cold and foot wear that can handle the snow, ice and even mud is suggested. Please bring binoculars and if possible a spotting scope.
