FREE Beginner-Friendly Bird Walk
Tiny birds, bright colours, big spring adventure! Celebrate the Victoria Day weekend with a free, relaxed spring bird walk—perfect for beginners of all ages. Our walk at Colonel Sam Smith Park will focus on spring migrants, and with peak migration underway, we’re expecting to see plenty of species.
Participation is limited to 30 registered attendees, so please register in advance. Binoculars are encouraged if you have them. The route may go beyond paved trails, so come prepared for wet or muddy ground and wear sturdy, suitable footwear.

Time: 8 am to 10 am
The meeting point is the upper parking lot at Colonel Sam Smith Park. We’ll be leaving from the parking lot meeting spot at 8 a.m., so please plan to arrive at least 10 minutes early to ensure we can start the hike on time. Parking lot details are available for the Upper Parking Lot. Parking is free.

Hike Cancellation

Hike Attendance
Please dress for the conditions and wear appropriate footwear for wet conditions. The park is located on Lake Ontario and can be cooler than other city areas and some walking areas can be wet. Participants of these hikes take part at their own risk and the event organizer, sponsor and leaders assume no responsibility for any loss or injury however sustained. Please do not bring pets.
