Winter Bird Walk
Hike Update - Hike will take place as scheduled.
Join Us for a FREE Beginner-friendly Bird Walk
A bird walk is an opportunity to enjoy nature and potentially observe some fascinating birds! We are planning an easy two-hour walk at the local hotspot, Colonel Sam Smith Park. The outings will focus on providing you with views of winter waterfowl found in the GTA. Expected species include Long-tailed Duck, Gadwall, Bufflehead, Horned Grebe etc. and wintering gulls such as Iceland, Great Black-backed and Glaucus Gulls.
If you have binoculars and/or a spotting scope, please bring them. We have a spotting scope to share with the group.
Your hike leader will be local birder Peter Sproule.
