• Flocks of nighthawks can be seen late in the month.
• Shorebird migration builds and waterfowl migration starts.
• Early warblers (Cape May, Tennessee, Magnolia, Blackburnian) migrate through the area.
• Broad-winged Hawk migration starts.
• American Goldfinches finish nesting late this month.

• The Perseid meteor shower will run from July 17 to Aug. 24, peaking on Aug. 12 or 13.                                                                                                                                                    Meteor rates in rural locations range from 50-75 shower members per hour at their peak.                                                                                                                                                   The moon won’t interfere at all during this shower’s peak — making for optimal viewing conditions, provided there is no cloud cover where you are.
